New Hunting Social Network, Let’s Get Hunting Launched

Your Travel Buddy, a Michigan based internet travel providers introduces, Let’s Get Hunting, a social network for hunters. It’s like Facebook for hunters. A community of Hunters that you can discuss and share stories on Hunting.

Social networking has become all the rage over the last few years with popular social networking and status sites such as Facebook and Twitter came on the online seen.

When it comes to online social networking, websites are commonly used. These websites are known as social sites. Social networking websites function like an online community of internet users. Depending on the website in question, many of these online community members share common interests in hobbies, religion, or politics. Once you are granted access to a social networking website you can begin to socialize. This socialization may include reading the profile pages of other members and possibly even contacting them.

We decided on the hunting theme to fill a void. We believe there is a tremendous market for a hunting social network as there is an estimated 25 million hunters nationwide, says Brent Vanderstelt of Your Travel Buddy.

"The actual hunting population may range from 23 million to 43.7 million", is according to The National Survey of Fishing, Hunting and Wildlife-Related Recreation, which used 2001 data, much of it from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service... "Much false or misleading information on these numbers is often cited by critics of hunting. But it is the task of the USF&W Service to gather and keep track of the actual numbers, so it is their information our decisions must be governed by".

However, the actual numbers of people becoming hunters is dropping each year. For every 100 hunters who no longer hunt due to encroaching age, health issues, or passing away, on average only about 69 new hunters join their ranks.

It’s my hope that by tapping into the popularity of social networking that we can increase the number of hunters nationally and make the sport what it once was.

As we grow our membership base, we hope to add member benefits such as travel discounts, featured big game hunts, and other discounts on everyday purchases, such as hunting gear. We want to add value to our members.

Hunting and sporting goods manufactures, hunting guides and outfitters are also encouraged to join and create a free membership as we will provide a laser sharp marketing or distribution channel to will almost eliminate traditional advertising means.

With Let’s Get Hunting Social Network members will be able to share hunting photos, hunting videos, hunting recipes, reviews, hunting guides, forums, and online classifieds and most importantly, meet new hunting friends.

Tour Travel Buddy is a family of online travel booking services including flights, hotels, cruises, car rentals, vacation packages, all inclusive vacations and adventure travel.

Your Travel Buddy Adventure Travel sells a host of adventure travel options to over 10,000 destinations including big game hunts from across the world.

Muskegon Ice Fishing Report 02/12/2010

They are now fishing 2nd street catching a few walleye and pike with some limits of perch also if you can get into them, the ice is from 3 to 6 inches with a few soft spots. Fishermans landing will be unsafe after friday because the barge company in going to be breaking up all the ice and moving a few peices of equipment. They are still getting perch by the clipper, papermill and cottage grove. Ice is around 8 inches. People are useing quads and snowmobiles all over the lake but you still need to use caution.

Muskegon Fishing Report 02/06/09

"They are fishing Cottage Grove, cCipper and behind the paper mill for perch in 40 to 70ft of water. It has been a hit or miss season but I have been hearing of some nice catches when you do get into them. Ice ranges from 4 to 8 inches out there. You need to figure out what they want and go from there.

Also need to use caution goin out further the shipping channel was wide open after the warm weather we had. I have been fishing Fishermans landing for the last few trips out did ok on pike on Monday and it was slow for me on Wednesday saw a lot of flags and fish caught by other people, ice was 3 to 6 inches. Cant get out to deeper water yet the east side of the lake was open water last week.

They have been fishing Snug since first ice and haven’t heard to much about it except for gills. They have been fishing Hartshorn for pike and doing ok some days. Sand Docks is not safe nobody is fishing it. I went to 2nd street yesterday and got out but it wasn’t safe once you walked off the path others have made, ice was 1 to 4 inches. Ice is just starting to get better on the rest of the lake so we will be able to get out and try different spots soon enough."
